Ed’s Exchange presents:

Not So Rough & Tumble

June 1, 2011

music school where youngsters learn violin

Where is McGinley Square you ask? It’s just 7 blocks south of the Journal Square Path.  Brimming with new construction homes, retail shops, restaurants and easy access to transit, make this neighborhood increasingly more desirable.

Rapidly becoming known as Jersey City’s NEW arts community, the McGinley merchants and residents are teaming up to bring about change we can really see, taste, & touch!

“I remember when I was a kid back in the 8Os and worked at City Hall. At the time, It was being said that the downtown Jersey City area would one day be a great place to live. Now I see the neighborhood up here headed in the same direction”, says Lisa D., a  JC resident since birth and who lives in the Greenville section.

It seems this UPtown neighborhood is on the UPswing!

The Fight is Over!

October 19, 2010

She took her last breath at 1:20am on October 18, 2010.

Perla R. Espinal fought hard for over a year and finally decided that her life would be better served on the other side.  With family and a few friends close by, this remarkable lady’s suffering came to an end and the battle with cancer that wreaked havoc on her body, is finally over.

Saddened loved-ones admitted she was ready to go. In the few weeks leading up to her death, Perla made a point of letting those around her know. “I am going to be walking on streets of gold”, some recall her saying. Surely one of those streets is named after her.

Rest in abundant peace Perla R. Espinal.

Ask Carrington

August 26, 2010

He stopped calling.

Q. I had dated this guy for a few weeks. Everything was going just fine until all of a sudden he completely stopped talking to me. Three weeks later he called and said he had lost his phone and had just gotten a new one. He also said that he had not been feeling well and had been in the hospital. I don’t know whether to believe him or not.
– Michelle B.

A. Here is a situation where a guy was not mature enough to just say hey I am not feeling you anymore. More than likely, he was not in the hospital and he did not lose his phone. If he did, this dude might have a case of bad karma and you may want to distance yourself from him until he sorts things out.

As an adult, he should have been upfront about his interest in you. But, on the flip side, you should have gotten the hint after two weeks had gone by and you hadn’t heard from him. If a man is interested in you he will make is feelings known by spending time with you and expecting you to do the same.  So, from now on, pay attention to the signals and try not to fall for made up stories that just don’t add up.
